Infographics
Early in my career, I found art editors were keen on infographics but struggled to assemble the graphic design, data visualisation and annotation skills to produce them. So I started doing it. A lot more people are doing it now, of course.
Later, running MacUser, I was able to expand the idea of an infographic from an illustration dropped into a page to a way of approaching page layout, combining text and graphics or photography and using scale to clarify facts and tell stories.
